As Lee is having yet another siesta (we left Spain days ago but he is quite taken by that custom), I will take a moment to sum up the last couple of days.
Wet, windy, dangerous and bloody good fun. It may seem that we exaggerate some of our stories for comic effect but I can assure you we are just as unlucky as the blogs suggest. Yesterday we walked for miles to visit a restaurant which had been highly recommended – when we got there it was closed owing to ‘circumstances exceptionnel’. On the way back, we stopped at a very flashing looking bistro only for them to serve Lee up some fresh road-kill.
The trip to Le Mans was much drier today but as we are now in our 13th day of travelling, fatigue is a constant companion and it feels like every mile is 5 times longer than it was last week.
We visited the famous race track and allowed them to rip us off in their museum. Cool cars though.
Tonight were are going to find a Mexican restaurant (obviously) and then tomorrow we are heading to Caen to look at some WW2 monuments.
Our ferry home is on Friday so it will probably be a good day to fly your kite….
